According to PIX11.com, crews are trying to clamp a leak on a power line that was cut back on January 6, 2014, and started leaking hundreds of gallons of dielectric fluid into western Long Island Sound. As much as 400 gallons of fluid may have been released thus far.
The cable belongs to the New York Power Authority, which says the fluid is non-toxic.
