Eastern Boats, Inc., has announced the acquisition of several models of Rosborough Boats of Nova Scotia. The newly branded Rosborough Boats USA will include the popular RF-246 Sedan Cruiser, the RF-246 Custom Wheelhouse and the Seaskiff-22, with production beginning immediately at Eastern Boat’s Milton, New Hampshire, facility.

The original, trailerable RF-246 “pocket trawler” celebrated its 25th year of production last March, and is approaching the
500-hull mark.

The advantages of building the RF-246 and Seaskiff-22 in New England includes providing the vessels with all the necessary U.S. documents while eliminating the logistical issues associated with bringing a Rosborough from Canada.

The trailerable RF-246 “pocket trawler” celebrated its 25th year of production last March, and is approaching the 500-hull mark. It’s a rugged, seaworthy and surprisingly roomy vessel that can be outfitted with amenities (eg., stove, V-berth, sink, microwave) that allow a couple to spend a weekend aboard. Enhancing the boat’s versatility and efficiency is a range of outboard power up to 300 hp, which allows shoal-water accessibility and ease of maintenance, as well as superior maneuverability and speed. I/O power is also available.

The helm offers ample room for electronics and great visibility through large windows, as well easy accessibility to the deck via the sliding side doors. These doors make it very easy to handle dock and mooring lines singlehanded.

The Seaskiff-22, which was added to the Rosborough line in 1972, will enjoy a homecoming in New Hampshire, where it was developed and earned its reputation as the Sisu 22. The Seaskiff and Sisu share the same basic hull, but the former includes advanced features and benefits of the Rosborough-built style. It’s a semi-custom platform that allows each boat to be tailored to the owner’s personal boating style and needs.

The new U.S.-manufactured Rosborough line is expected to be shown at winter boat shows.
