Rowing and sailing enthusiasts are pushing their vision for a sweeping overhaul of Hingham Harbor [Massachusetts], including a new two-story, all-season boathouse and tree-lined boulevard along the water. Town officials say the idea faces serious obstacles.
The concept, which was included in a report completed by Boston-based Community Rowing Inc., focuses on improvements to a town-owned wharf that is now home to the Lincoln Maritime sailing and rowing school, but also includes suggestions for nearby town property, including the overgrown and unused Steamboat Wharf.
