Minuteman News Center: The Fairfield [Connecticut] Shellfish Commission got at least one wish that it expressed as a vote at its meeting on Wednesday night—that the chairman and vice-chairman of the commission meet with state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) officials to talk about Exide’s clean-up of lead in the Mill River.

That meeting will happen on February 28, when they, along with Fairfield’s state representatives, Fairfield Conservation Director Tom Steinke, First Selectman Mike Tetreau and the chairs of the Conservation Commission and Harbor Management Commission meet with about a half-dozen DEEP officials. State Representative Brenda Kupchick, said she set up the meeting, along with State Senator John McKinney.
