SouthCoastToday.com: The Fairhaven [Massachusetts] Fire Department is getting creative in the hopes of replacing its fire rescue boat.
In April, the department acquired a used 25’ vessel from the Coast Guard for free after the boat was listed as surplus. But the boat did not come equipped with outboard motors, GPS, radio or radar.
Now, the Fire Department is turning to the community to help raise $80,000 to outfit the boat Lt. Brian Messier said will help save lives.
