TheHour.com: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is poised to begin the 3rd and final phase of the massive Norwalk Harbor [Connecticut] dredging project next month. On September 6, the Army Corps awarded an $8.2 million contract to Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Co. of Quincy, Massachusetts, to dredge Norwalk and New Haven harbors, according to the corps.

The project will remove roughly 150,000 cubic yards of sediment from Norwalk Harbor, between the Stroffolino Bridge and the outer harbor, and return the harbor to its federally authorized navigation depth of 12’, according to officials.
