Works of public art are starting to appear in the downtown HarborWalk area of Gloucester as the first of three projects nears completion.

Artist Sarah Sherman and her husband, artist James Calderwood, of Dunham, N.H., were commissioned by the Committee for the Arts on behalf of the City of Gloucester for the 2013 HarborWalk Public Art Challenge, with funding from the Seaport Advisory Council, Commonwealth of Mass.

Over the summer, they have been creating the street mural ‘Fish Net’ along Parsons Street, the short street that connects Main Street to Rogers Street between The Dress Code and the old Empire building.
