According to the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association (RISAA), the Galilee launch facility in Narragansett is currently being rebuilt and improved for the 2014 season. The new launch will consist of a double-lane, 60′ wide, pre-cast concrete ramp with 2 adjacent rows of floating docks. The work will also include the elevation and expansion of the existing fixed pier walkway to provide access to the pier and floats for boaters with disabilities. The new double-lane system with added floats will greatly increase the efficiency and ease of use of the facility, and is expected to reduce wait times for users of this busy boat ramp.

A new bridge is also being built from Galilee to Great Island. The bridge will offer vertical clearance at MLW of 11′ 7″ and much wider horizontal passage (76’) between the spans that will allow for boat traffic in both directions.
