The Gloucester Times reports that the venerable Cape Pond Ice Company, which was founded in 1876 to provide ice for fishing schooners, is putting its 3-story waterfront facility and 180’ of dockage up for sale for $2 million.

The article states that the sale is due to the massive harvest restrictions being faced by the commercial groundfish industry.
