SouthCoastToday.com: The [Massachusetts] Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Environmental Law has awarded the [New Bedford] Harbor Development Commission a $75,000 grant to prepare a recovery and revitalization plan for the Port of New Bedford.
The commission will gather economic data and make recommendations regarding public and private actions needed to save shoreside jobs even as regulation has crippled the fishing industry in recent years.
