BostonHerald.com: [Massachusetts’] top shark hunter is raising the red flag saying more great whites need to be tagged to better understand the elusive predators who have made Cape Cod their new home.
Greg Skomal, the state Division of Marine Fisheries shark scientist, has only been able to tag 34 great whites — but he’s aiming for 100.
“The objective of the study is to learn where does the white shark go and what does it do,” Skomal said as he worked this weekend’s (July 18-20) Monster Shark Derby off Martha’s Vineyard.
