Russo Marine has announced that it will be the first New England boat dealer to sell Greenline Yachts, the first hybrid boat line. Russo Marine has locations in Boston, Massachusetts, and Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Greenline introduced its first hybrid-engine yacht—the 33—in 2010. The boat quickly became the world’s best-selling yacht, with more than 300 boats delivered to 28 countries in the last 3 years.

Russo will also offer the Greenline Hybrid 40, 48 and 70, all featuring hybrid propulsion systems.

Greenline Hybrid yachts are designed to offer a high level of comfort, less resistance through the water, seaworthiness, stability and ease of handling. The boat’s reduced energy requirements mean less running costs, fewer fuel stops and more time for cruising. Reduced wake and CO-2 emissions preserves the environment, while the boats continue to provide optimal performance along with a comfortable, safe ride.

In addition, hybrid yachts collect, store and use electrical energy from the sun, from a dockside power source or from the main engine-driven generator. The running costs of electric boating are 10 times less than burning diesel fuel, and Greenline Hybrids are easy to use and require less maintenance.

Greenline’s New England makes its debut at a Russo Marine Test Drive Event, June 7-8, at Marina Bay in North Quincy, Massachusetts.
