CapeCodOnline: (Harwich, Massachusetts) Town officials are hoping the state will give them an extension on their permit to finish the $2.9 million Allen Harbor dredging project.

At least 14,000 cubic yards of mucky sediment already have been removed from the harbor, but there have been delays because of bad weather, a denial by the Army Corps of Engineers to use a closer dredge spoil dumping site, and some mechanical problems. Harwich town officials are hoping the state will give them an extension on their permit to finish the $2.9 million Allen Harbor dredging project.
