New Haven Register: A man’s body was found floating in the Connecticut River [in Middletown] by a kayaker late Saturday morning [February 23], police said.

The body was found around 10:40 a.m., but it took officers almost an hour to get it out of the water because it was near the shore down a steep embankment,

Middletown police said. The body was floating in the river just south of the Cromwell line, adjacent to Route 9 north.
