Newburyport News: Those looking to enjoy any beach weather in the near future should be sure to cross Lake Attitash [Massachusetts] off the list of places to visit.

The lake that straddles the Amesbury and Merrimac line has the distinction of being the only water body in Massachusetts that state officials recommend residents steer clear of and avoid contact with because of a blue-green algae bloom, according to the state Department of Public Health.
