A recent editorial in the Portland Press Herald backs a proposed $20 million Army Corps of Engineers plan that it says could protect Maine’s Camp Ellis from further erosion.
According to the editorial, 50 properties have been lost to the sea in recent years, and another 60 are in danger. Aggressive efforts are needed, it claims, as sea levels are rising and extreme storms are becoming more destructive.
