The railroad bridge spanning Connecticut’s Mystic River was closed to marine traffic on October 16 due to a snapped main driveshaft, preventing the bridge from opening or closing, according to Amtrak officials.
Crews worked furiously on the bridge and were able to make it operational today (October 17).
