SouthCoastToday reports on the unusual strategy being used by contractors on the New Bedford, Massachusetts, South Terminal project to keep winter flounder out of the blast range for the controlled underwater explosions scheduled to begin later in the month.
According to the article, the contractors will slowly drag chains along the bottom to “tickle” the flounder and make them leave the area.
