A new high-speed ferry proposed to run between Quonset Point, Rhode Island and Block Island has been met with mixed reactions, according to an article in the Block Island Times.
While the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce is opposed to the idea of a new ferry, the Block Island Town Council weighed in on the new ferry this week. Councilors voiced some support for the service, but also expressed concerns that the service could be bringing more people to an already crowded island. Some town residents have also expressed support for the service.
