New Haven Register: New London [Connecticut] has a big idea to better develop Long Island Sound and the shoreline surrounding it for tourism and preserve its rich maritime resources.
The city, in conjunction with the New London Maritime Society and the state of Connecticut, has announced that it plans to take the lead to create a new Long Island Sound Gateways National Maritime Park.
“We’re excited to organize this project for Connecticut and New London,” said Susan Tamulevich, director of the Maritime Society and Custom House Maritime Museum.
