SeacoastOnline: Bruce Montville is offering an island owned by his family as a place for free recreation for veterans, and he is looking for the public to support his idea by attending an initial fundraiser for Veterans Family Place.
The fundraiser is scheduled from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Flatbread Co., 61 High St., Hampton, New Hampshire.
Veterans Family Place is a conceptual plan to help transform an accessible, secluded 10-acre island on Bow Lake in Northwood into a place veterans and their families can enjoy for rest, relaxation and renewal. It will be a place they can go to spend quality time with their loved ones, always as free guests. Montville said the effort is a project of LifeWise Community, based in Hampton.
