Boston.com: Maine fishery officials are calling last week’s seizure of $61,000 worth of baby eels, a pickup truck and eel storage equipment the largest illegal eel possession case in the history of the state’s elver fishery.

Phillip Parker, 41, of Candia, New Hampshire, was cited last week for possession of 41 pounds of baby eels, known as elvers, without having a Maine fishing license, officials said Monday [April 8].
