The Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 38 will be conducting a 10-week Boating Skills & Seamanship Course at Pentucket Regional Middle School in West Newbury, Massachusetts.

The course begins on Tuesday, February 5, and will run Tuesday nights from 6:45 to 9:00.

This updated and revised course will consist of core lessons for both the novice and experienced boater.

Topics include:

  • Which Boat is Right for You?
  • Trailering Your Boat
  • Required Equipment for Your Boat
  • Handling Your Boat
  • Navigational Highway Signs
  • Rules of Navigation
  • Chart Navigation
  • Inland Boating
  • Boating Safety

The course is presented by volunteer civilian members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and meets all state boating safety requirements. A certificate will be awarded to all students who complete it.
