Arrived in Camden last evening (August 4). Launched the Whaler 250 Outrage at the ramp next to Wayfarer Marine, then tied up at the marina.¬† The Wayfarer staff couldn’t have been more helpful. As a cold front rolled through the area, we checked in at the Camden Harbor Inn, our home for the next few days. Very nice place, right near the harbor and within easy walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants.

Curtis Island LightThey also serve an excellent breakfast as we discovered this morning before heading out to shoot a a segment on some of the neighboring islands, including Islesboro and Warren. The latter, a state park, offers free moorings and campsites for a nominal fee.

After returning to the harbor Gene Allen climbed in a helicopter and shot Parker and me running around in the Whaler, as well as awesome footage of the local schooner fleet and lighthouse.

More good stuff ahead, including kayaking and a harbor tour with harbormaster Steve Pixley.
