Seacoast Online: Nemo left a question mark over the repair of a tramway building and the future of the cable system that formerly served as a supply lifeline for caretakers at Nubble Light [Maine].

The electric tramway hasn’t worked in years, and the town’s insurer, Maine Municipal Association, will no longer insure the building given the number of times it’s been damaged by storms, according to Parks and Recreation Director Mike Sullivan, who is responsible for the facilities at the park and on the island. Federal Emergency Management Agency funds replaced and upgraded the tramway about 20 years ago, according to Sullivan, who said a town assessment is currently being done on the availability of FEMA funds in the aftermath of Nemo.
