A 46-year-old man allegedly commandeered a boat and inspected boaters’ registrations in the Point O’ Woods area in Old Lyme, Connecticut, while impersonating a police and U.S. Coast Guard official on Thursday (August 8, 2013), according to an article on StamfordAdvocate.com.
Bruce W. Browne was then seen walking on Sea View Drive with a gun, prompting a call to police from a concerned resident at 6:23 p.m. Browne was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer, breach of peace, interfering with a police officer and possession of a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle.
