Two people were reportedly taken to the hospital with stings from a Portuguese Man of War in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard this week, according to an article in the Martha’s Vineyard Patch.
Officials reopened South Beach on Thursday after swimmers were stung on Wednesday [July 4]. Swimmers are cautioned that they enter the water at their own risk and to keep an eye out for venomous Portuguese Man o’ War siphonophores.
