In the wake of the Vibrio parahaemolyticus outbreak, which has sickened at least 14 people, Connecticut’s oyster industry had taken a huge hit following a voluntary recall, according to an article on NHRegister.com.
David H. Carey, director of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Aquaculture and Laboratory Service, says one of the reasons many states purchased Connecticut oysters was because they hadn’t had a Vibrio outbreak. Now that’s changed.
