The 36th Annual SailFest will be held in New London, Connecticut, this weekend (July 12-14, 2013). This major summer festival features over 200 vendors, 3 tall ships, live bands, 2 America’s Cup boats that you can actually sail on, a road race, great food and the famous Mashantucket Pequot Fireworks Extravaganza.

SailFest kicks off Friday with a huge array of food from local restaurants. At 5:00, grab a cold beverage and enjoy the music at one of 2 Sailfest music venues—the Hygienic Art Park Stage and the Custom House Pier Stage.

On Saturday, attendees can shop at the more than 200 specialty artisans and vendors that line Bank and State Streets in the heart of downtown New London. New this year, City Pier will host the Kidsploration stage from 10:30 – 5:00, featuring a full lineup of children’s entertainment.

Custom House Pier is the place to pick up an official Sailfest 2013 T-shirt or cool off at the beer garden and listen to some great music. It’s also where you can also sign up to sail aboard one of the ships.

The Mashantucket Pequot Fireworks Extravaganza is held Satruday night starting at 9:20 p.m. with choreographed to music on WNLC, 98.7.
