Newburyport News: William Pierce, the first and only keeper of Salisbury’s former Harbor Range Light, was recently honored by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, which owns Salisbury Beach State Reservation.

DCR placed a memorial plaque on the back of a bench located on the reservation near what is known as Ben Butler’s Toothpike to commemorate the work Pierce did from 1891 through 1910 as the keeper of the Harbor Range Light.
