Scientists surveying the bottom of [Long Island] bays say that there are no signs of a broad die-off of scallops this summer, as there was in 2012 — and that prospects for a good scallop harvest this fall are high.
While scientists said there was some scallop mortality this year, the numbers they’ve seen on dives have looked good.
