WickedLocal Scituate: The rehabilitation of the Scituate [Massachusetts] Town Pier will continue as planned after the Seaport Advisory Council (SAC) approved additional funding for the project.

In a meeting held on November 7 attended by Scituate Harbormaster Mark Patterson, members of the Scituate Waterways Commission, Scituate Town Administrator Patricia Vinchesi, and State Representative Jim Cantwell, D-Marshfield, among others—the SAC authorized $292,305 to upgrade and modernize the pier allowing for greater use.

“The commercial pier, which we’re trying to rehabilitate, is a primary supporting facility for the commercial fishing industry in Scituate,” Patterson said.  “It also supports a lot of ancillary businesses that depend on the fishing industry, like ice sales, fuel sales, fish markets, restaurants, and even tourism.”
