27East.com: The near herculean efforts being conducted to restore East End [Long Island] shellfish stocks and improve water quality will be getting a homegrown boost from a Southampton group that is turning a summer project for teens into a full-time production.

Ship 908 of the Sea Scouts, a maritime-focused offshoot of the Boy Scouts of America, has begun constructing the first shellfish hatchery to operate adjacent to town waters in decades at town-owned Conscience Point Marina in North Sea.
