Captain Tom Kehlenbach of Sea Tow Central Connecticut weathered Sandy, and has this brief report from the Connecticut River:

“My office survived, but I hope they don’t condemn the structure.

“The storm caused massive waterfront home damage, and a few boats floated off their poppets in the local marinas, but otherwise there was not really a lot of damage since there was not much wave action in the river.

“Not sure how the harbors to our west made out yet, as we are still not able to access those areas. Despite 600,000 plus with no power in CT we never lost power or internet service in Old Saybrook.”
