Lohud.com: The high bacteria counts in Mamaroneck Harbor [New York] came from more than just a grocery store and a yacht club with a broken sewer pipe.
Seven more points were leaking sewage and high levels of fecal coliform and e. coli bacteria when volunteers for Save the Sound tested the water at 25 points over the summer, the environmental organization said Wednesday [September 18].
The results, released with an interactive map, show where more investigation is needed, the group said.
