NHRegister.com: It’s the heart of summer, practically August, but in the midst of prime fishing season, nobody’s catching stripers or bluefish off the state pier at [New Haven, Connecticut’s] Fort Hale Park on New Haven Harbor.
Nine months after Superstorm Sandy wrecked the pier, a mere skeleton remains. Fishermen are limited to catching porgies and other, smaller fish from the base of the blocked-off pier on Long Island Sound.
