WickedLocal Plymouth, Massachusetts, reports on a $525,000 grant for the removal of dams and the restoration of historic Town Brook. The grant will help fund the continued removal of both the Plymco and Holmes dams, as well as habitat restoration work in those areas.
By 2017, the Billington Street Dam, the Off Billington Street Dam, the Plymco Dam and the Holmes Dam will have been either removed or completely reconfigured to return the stream to its natural flow and make it easier for fish such as river herring and eels to access upriver areas.
