CapeCodOnline: [Truro, Massachusetts] Harbormaster Joseph Francis was fired Friday after a fight June 7 with an off-duty state trooper over parking at Pamet Harbor.
“You engaged in conduct that fits the legal definition of battery,” Town Administrator Rex Peterson said in a letter Friday to Francis. “The town must be able to count on its employees to retain their composure when dealing with the public, even in the face of unreasonable behavior on the part of members of the public.”
The termination was effective immediately, the letter stated. Francis was paid $52,000 annually.
