University of Maine representatives will provide updates on the research and development program of offshore wind energy in three Knox and Lincoln County communities in November.

UMaine has proposed deploying two full-scale floating wind turbines south of Monhegan Island and connecting those turbines to the power grid on the main land near New Harbor, Maine. The meetings are an informal presentation and an opportunity for residents to discuss the project.

The meetings will be held:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6-8 p.m. at the Friendship Town Office.
  • Thursday, Nov. 14, 6-8 p.m. at the Bristol Consolidated School.
  • Monday, Nov. 25, 6-8 p.m. at the Herring Gut Learning Center in Port Clyde.
