A Vermont lake closed to swimmers after flooding from Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 filled it with silt that left it too shallow for swimming will be re-opened this summer after a dredging project is completed, officials said.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hopes a dredging project will allow swimmers at Townshend Lake once again, possibly within a few weeks.
