Block Island Times: A new technology designed to harness energy produced by the ocean’s waves might come to Block Island. A New England-based organization has proposed installing a temporary demonstration project off the island’s coast.
The idea was presented at the Monday, November 18, meeting of the Electric Utilities Task Group (EUTG) by Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative (MRECo), a non-profit organization of New England. MRECo has partnered with an Italian-based company, Enel Green Power, for this project.
