Harris saw the population of winter flounder spike to an all-time high in the early summer of 2013, but the fish disappeared by late August. Harris said he does not have the equipment to conduct further studies on the factors behind the disappearance of winter flounder, but he could catch winter flounder so that a larger scientific organization could study them.
