No Action Yet on Coecles Harbor Shoaling

According to the Shelter Island Reporter, the shoaling situation at the mouth of Coecles Harbor is being discussed by the Department of Public Works. Winter storms caused shifting sands to narrow the channel considerably, making it problematic for larger boats to access the harbor.

“We know it’s a long shot, but we’re trying to get it done by this season,” Councilman Ed Brown was quoted as saying.
