No Answers Yet in Nantucket Boater’s Disappearance
April 7, 2011
CapeCodOnline follows up on the disappearance of Jon Hemingway, who disappeared while transiting Nantucket Sound on the night of March 17-18, 2010, in his Maritime Skiff Patriot, a 23-foot cuddy cabin boat.

The Nantucket landscaper was an experienced boater, but may have accidentally fallen overboard as he neared the island. His wife and children were sleeping in the cabin of the boat and awoke when the boat grounded on the north shore of the island.
Investigators have found no evidence of foul play.
The skeletal remains of a human leg with a sock and boot still attached were discovered on Nantucket’s Coatue Beach last September, but DNA testing of the remains have not been completed, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office.
