NOAA Ship Discharges Oil into Piscataqua River

Seacoast Online: Oily water was accidentally discharged into the Piscataqua River Tuesday afternoon [may 26], according to a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard.

Shortly after noon the national Oceanic and Atmospheric Ship Ferdinand R. Hassler accidentally discharged oily water into the river. The ship’s crew immediately notified the Coast Guard and the National Response Center.

There are no reports of pollution on shore or damage to wildlife, according to the release.
