Nor’easter Affects Ferry Service


The Inquirer & Mirror reports that the Steamship Authority and Hy-Line Cruises canceled some ferry service between Cape Cod and Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard due to high winds created by the approaching nor’easter.

The SSA canceled the 6:00 and 8:45 a.m. runs of the freight boat Gay Head, the 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. fast boat Iyanough, and the 9:15 a.m. and noon trips of the conventional ferry Eagle. The Hy-Line has also canceled the 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. fast boat Grey Lady trips.
