Norwalk, CT, Art Show Celebrates Maritime Subjects
August 22, 2011
TheHour.com: From the muted colors of a tidal pool at sunrise to a ruby-red dinghy floating in blue waters, the diverse artistic interpretations of coastal living by Wilson Avenue Loft (WALA) artists will be displayed in “Tidal Connections,” an upcoming exhibition at Lockwood Mathews Mansion.
Bringing their personal viewpoints to the coastal theme, the WALA artists use a varied selection of genres and media including oil paintings on canvas and on linen to monotypes and mixed media with collage. Pieces range from traditional landscapes to contemporary mapping.
The show runs August 20 through September 29, and will feature an artist’s reception September 23, planned to coordinate with Norwalk’s In-Water Boat Show.
