Ocean Film to Premier in Northeast
October 21, 2013
Following on the heels of their award-winning film, “Ocean Frontiers,” Green Fire Productions will premier their newest film this month in Boston and Providence. “Ocean Frontiers II: A New England Story for Sustaining the Sea” will bring viewers face-to-face with those now embarking on the nation’s first multi-state ocean plan.
In a region steeped in old maritime tradition comes a modern wave of big ships, energy industries, and a changing climate, now testing the limits of an already crowded sea. But in a pioneering trial of far-sighted planning — pushed by blueprints for offshore wind energy — old residents and new are coming together to keep their ocean and livelihoods alive.
“Ocean Frontiers II” will premier October 28, 2013, in Providence at the Providence Public Library Auditorium and October 29, 2013, in Boston at the New England Aquarium’s Simons IMAX Theatre. A discussion will follow the film. Both events are free and open to the public. Registration is requested.
