Officials Hope to Revive CT’s Pleasure Beach
July 13, 2014
Pleasure Beach, straddling the Connecticut communities of Stratford and Bridgeport, used to be a flourishing vacation community. Today, it is an eyesore of abandoned buildings, trash and overgrown brush. But some officials are trying to change that, according to an article on Salon.com.

What happened to Pleasure Beach, and the changes in store for it now, is a story of corruption, tragedy, natural forces and heroic efforts. It is a story about the degradation of a happy place, and maybe, finally, its return to life.
