Oil Slicks Reported on Mill River, CT

The New Haven Register reports that the Coast Guard is preparing for an environmental cleanup inside the former English Station power plant in New Haven, CT, after oil from the facility apparently leaked into the Mill River last month.

Several oil slicks were spotted on the river near the plant, according to Cmdr. Jonathan Theel, response chief for the New Haven Coast Guard station. However, the exact source of the oil as yet to be determined.
